For outdoor use. Easy installation, no wiring needed. Solar panel uses sunlight to charge the sealed lead acid, 6 volt, 5.0 Amp-Hour battery during the day. Pulse Count technology reduces false sensing from wind and rain. Photocell turns on light when mot ion is detected, automatically turns light off after 30 seconds, keeps the light off during daylight hours. Battery protection circuitry prevents excessive overcharge and undercharge. When fully charged the solar light will operate a maximum of 15 days wi thout sunlight. Pricey, but excellent

There are lots of solar powered lights, but most of those have puny LEDs which provide very little light. This one has a real light bulb and provides a good amount of light. It's not a 150-watt bulb, but it really lights up my driveway. It has a hefty battery as well, so it takes longer to charge, but if you want a more power out, you need to provide more power in. I have only two complaints - one is that the light is fairly tightly focused - I would have preferred it spread out over a bigger area (but then it would have appeared dimmer). The other is that it doesn't stay on long enough once motion stops or you walk out of the sensor's area. But those are both minor items. I love mine, and have given out two others as gifts.

You must not live in the west!

We are very pleased with the Heath Zenith Floodlight. Living in northern California, we have fall/winter sun and had no difficulty in charging our light. Yes, we did let it sit in the sun for the required 72 hours. Works perfectly - we are very pleased. Would recommend to others.

Since this is solar powered the light will only give you about 30 mins of strong light. The beam works great for my driveway as it projects an eight foot beam. I bought two. Be sure to wrap the box with a couple of plastic shopping bags as it is not weather proof.

Easy to install takes three days to fully charge the battery before turing it on. Works great. Bright but not blaring which is fine for me. Time of course will tell if it has a long battery life. The senor adusts and it goes on quickly when movement detected. Has good range. Bought mine at Home Depot for about same price. It's been through rain storms and works in the rain. I have had 17 months now with zero problems.
